Thought that this might be worth a discussion once Admin gets this thing off the ground. I was up at Crane Hall for an overnighter and was feeling patient enough to fish the specimen pit.
Using boilie on a hair rig and fishing the south side and casting close to the large island I landed myself a 19lb common.
Just wish I'd taken my camera : (

I have been, on many occasions, the victim of the world wibe webs often misleading subject advise. During the unfortunately short lived Summer i purchased a 14 foot CJR from a gentleman in St Annes who had laid the poor boat to rest in a very sorry state of repair. I rented a unit and set about the huge task of rebuilding the boat, incuding replacing inner and outer floor, major external rebuild and a full 2 pack respray. It was a huge task that turned in to a labour of love rather than a project. I spent many a night trying to overcome problems by opening a can of beer and typing questions into the search bar, only to be guided blindly into a world of advice that, at times, would've almost certainly ended in my demise at the bottom of the ocean. The boat is now complete and looks as new. It's due out on the Irish early 2010 and will spend many a weekend hunting Pike in Cumbria. Whats my point? you may well ask. Well i'm trying to start a thread of real questions and answers with the rubbish removed. If i dont have an answer then i'll either say so or find one, if you see a question that you've found a definate answer to then you'll share it. My goal would be a safe place where answers are tried and tested, be it restoring an old boat, fixing an outboard, choosing a suitable bite alarm, how to repair a broken bivvy pole or simply 'where are the godammed fish in this lake'.. Post your views and lets make a start..]]>
